Partner Flight School (External; FTU Division)

We are proud to be partners with CPAQ.AERO (abbreviated CPAQ hereafter) based from the Montreal/St. Hubert Longueuil Airport (ICAO Identifier: CYHU). Our partnership allows us to make the process of beginning or continuing flight training easier for pilots, as well as ensuring that the information we provide here are up to date and accurate. Learn more about CPAQ below, or by visiting their website directly.
In cases of conflicting information between this website and the website of CPAQ, the information provided by CPAQ takes precedence.

School and Airport Overview

CPAQ.AERO is a local Montreal flight training unit based out of St. Hubert Airport. The school has the ambiance of a flying club with instructors teaching every license and rating issued by Transport Canada. In addition to flight instruction, CPAQ also offers aerial works and aircraft charters.

Eric Raissac - the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, and Chief Instructor - has over 50 years of flight instruction experience, and holds the directive positions of many aviation organizations both in Quebec and in France. He established CPAQ.AERO in 2002 in the nearby city of St. Jean-sur-Richelieu in 2002, and has operated out of St. Hubert since 2005. Working with a team of professional and affable instructors, there is very little CPAQ does not know across both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

The base of operation for CPAQ is the St. Hubert Airport. Located immediately adjacent to the Montreal neighbourhood of Longueuil, the two parallel runways support air charter companies, medevac flights, and extensive flight training activities. The two runways are oriented northeast/southwest (06/24) with a 8000ft northern runway (06L/24R) and a 4000ft southern runway (06R/24L). The airport is home to five FBOs, four flight schools, three air charter companies, and two aircraft maintenance operations. With everything from 737-200s to Cessna 152s being a common sight, St. Hubert ranks 10th busiest in Canada by aircraft movement in 2021, almost matching Calgary International Airport. Despite the volume of traffic, the airport manages an efficient operation with ground waiting times kept at no more than 5 minutes except in rare instances.

Cessna 172L C-FEWV

Training: PPL, CPL, IFR (Group 3), Night Rating, Instructor's Rating
Price: $183.55/hour

The Cessna 172 is arguable the best training aircraft ever made. Whether you need an aircraft for training or a photography flight over the city, the Cessna can fill just about any role. This Cessna 172L has been recently fitted with a brand-new engine, GPS equipment capable of the most precise approaches, and many more avionics upgrades.

Cessna 172N C-GNLR

Seats: 4
Training: PPL, CPL, IFR (Group 3), Night Rating, Instructor's Rating
Price: $183.70/hour

Quite possibly the least Cessna-looking Cessna of the entire airport, GNLR is an N-model that does not look its age. Configured with a GNC355 IFR-capable GPS and an Aspen EFD 1000 digital display, it can satisfy all the training needs of a glass cockpit at a much lower price. If you find yourself training in visual conditions, the two big windows on the roof eradicates the upwards visibility limitations of the high-winged Cessna.

Cessna 152 C-GYHS

Seats: 2
Training: PPL, CPL, Night Rating, Instructor's Rating
Price: $162.12/hour

The Cessna 152 is the Cessna 172 that brings the word "affordability" into the same sentence as "flight training." The 152 teaches you everything required to be a proficient and safe pilot while keeping your wallet intact. In the modern age of ever sleeker aircraft designs, the 152 is the cloest you can get to the old days of simple stick and rudder flying.

Diamond DA20-C1 Katana C-GEPV

Seats: 2
